Retards, I am surronded by them, I will be playing CTF (capture the flag) and I will go into the enemy base all stealthy like, carjack some poor nazi's jeep, and then make a mad dash for the flag - grab the flag and start on that long drive back across the map to my own base, get within pissing distance of my teams flagpole, and all the sudden some piss-ant on my team thinks it would be funny to either shoot me, or run into me with a tank, or crash into me with another jeep.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Thats so godamned funny, watch me get banned from this server while I do nothing but hunt your fucking noob ass down and kill you repeadtly.
OK, but other than that this game is great!
I will start off with the character classes - you can choose to play as a:
Scout, basically a sniper, who can also pick out targets for your artillery to hit.
Medic, can heal yourself and other people on your team.
Assault, your basic soldier, equipped to deal death among the enemy
Anti-Tank, you have a rocket launcher to eliminate enemy armor
Engineer, comes with explosive charges, mines, and a rifle.
Once you get used to each class, you will find yourself changing often in between them, for instance, you might be an anti-tank person to help some of your team-mates go take an enemy base, lets say you die during that assault, an enemy tank rolls into your base unchecked, and rips havoc among the spawned soldiers, well then you might change into an engineer, and try to sneak up on the tank and blow that puppy up with a explosive satchel, or put some mines in it's way. After that mission is accomplished, you feel a little devious yourself, in that case, change again into a scout, grab an airplane and parachute deep into enemy territory and get some headshots against those nazi fuckers.
You get fighter planes, agile and fast, you can wreak havoc with these, that is if you know how to fly, get a joystick, it's much easier. On the topic of planes you also get bombers, not much bigger than a fighter, but you get the ability to drop a bigger payload (kind of like Rosie O'Donnel droppin a deuce, I am sure her Bowel Movements Pwn mine). And there are also Heavy Bombers, flying over an enemy base in a B17 and carpet bombing the enemy team is the fuckin shit. Or loading people onto the wings and air dropping them is a treat.
Tanks, 2 person seaters, one mans the turret and driving, while the dude on top gets a .50 cal for suppresing enemy fire, or for Anti-aircraft fire. There are also Heavy tanks, Tigers and M-10's, these things are punishers, if you are good, you can easily take on 3 enemy tanks (as long as their noobs) and win. An assortment of support vehicles are here also, jeeps, armored personel carriers, and motorized artillery.
I don't play the water/ocean maps that often, but there is an assortment here also, Aircraft carriers, submarines, battleships, destroyers, and higgins boats to ferry your ass to the shore. There aren't many greater feelings than depth charging an enemy submarine while in a destroyer. Taking off from a carrier is easy also, in fact all the vehicle controls are simplified, it might be tough the first couple times, but the learning curve is very simple.
There are also many mods for this game, I do not play them myself, but I know there are Vietnam mods, modern desert combat mods - with A-10 warthogs, Apache helicopters, abhrams battletanks, etc. And I think there are more, but I dunno. EA is also making another expansion pack, about the secret weapons that were being built by Germany's Luftwaffe. The expansion pack thats out right now, Road to Rome, adds new maps, some different armored vehicles to fuck shit up in, and probably other stuff, I don't know though, cuz I don't own it, and this isn't a review about R2R!
Graphics 8.5 - they get the job done, and look decent while doing it
Controls 9 - very easy to learn, totally customizable
Re-playability 10 - I find myself addicted to this game, as much as CS did to me, back in the day
Sound 5 - not much going on here, its good, but nothing special, also be careful to download drivers specific to this game, there are a lot of problems dealing with sound for this title.
Plus the sound gets staticy at times, it's very odd
Overall - 9.2 - this game won a shit ton of awards, and there is no doubt as to why.
